Illustrator work

Shape, color, and type, without a brief

A collection of vector illustrations, typography experiments, and digital compositions created in Adobe Illustrator. This is where I experiment with shape, color, typography, and composition without forcing everything into one brand or campaign — from detailed cityscapes and playful illustrations to type-driven posters and editorial-style layouts.

A lot of these pieces started as exercises in learning Illustrator, but they became a way to develop my own visual style. Some are bold and graphic, some are more playful, some are built almost entirely around typography. This section is less about one finished project and more about how I think visually and build ideas from scratch.

Poster work

One formula, zero times used

A collection of freelance, event, and promotional posters created across different styles, audiences, and visual identities — for events, art clubs, exhibitions, social gatherings, and independent projects. Every project had a different audience and purpose, so I used each one as a chance to explore a new visual direction: bold typography and collage, cleaner editorial layouts, playful graphics, image-led compositions.

A lot of this work was created for real events, which meant balancing creativity with clear information, strong hierarchy, and designs that could quickly catch attention both online and in print.

i.

Painter first, designer second

Every project still starts the way a painting does — with color, composition, and mood, before a single word of type gets chosen.

ii.

Build a world, not a graphic

A brand or a room should feel like somewhere, not just something to look at. DRISYA taught me that a mood can be architecture.

iii.

The style changes, I don't

A poster, a bottle, a museum, a coffee bag — the aesthetic shifts every time, but the instinct for what makes something memorable stays the same.

iv.

Two pixels matter

I will move something two pixels and tell you it changed everything — because sometimes it actually does.

A bit about me

I'm Hrishita — I make things look good, feel right, and actually have a personality. I'm a designer and artist, so my brain is usually somewhere between "this needs better typography" and "what if we made the whole thing way more interesting?"

I moved to San Francisco from India at 18 with a suitcase and no real plan beyond "make things." By 21, I was an Art Director. In between, I picked up a fine art degree, a habit of talking to strangers, and an unreasonable amount of opinions about typography.

I work across graphic design, branding, events, digital experiences, creative direction, and fine art. I like bold ideas, strong visuals, weird little details, and projects where I get to turn something simple into something people actually remember.

I started with painting, which probably explains why I'm obsessed with color, composition, and making everything feel intentional.

I care a lot about the work. I also like having fun with it. And yes, I will absolutely move something two pixels and tell you it changed everything.

The personality issue

A class project turned into a magazine about me, because apparently that's a thing you can do. Click either page to see it larger.
